In 1986 The Finger Lakes Region Lions Hearing Foundation was incorporated by NY State as a non-for-profit 501 (c) (3) Foundation and approved by Lions International to serve the hearing impaired.
We collect used hearing aids, have them refurbished and make them available to needy hearing-impaired people. We operate solely on monetary donations and the collection of used hearing aides. Our entire operation is volunteer.
We use qualified Audiologists as Service Providers to fit the aids to our patients. They can then better hear the pleasant sounds of life and this bounty certainly fulfills our Mission. With the help of the Western New York Lions, Lioness and Leo Clubs, we have provided over 1,400 people with a major improvement in the way they communicate.
Short presentations are available to clubs within Lions Districts 20-N, 20-E1, 20-E2, 20-Y1. Call the Foundation Corporate Office.
Charter member Lion Art Elliott, the Secretary/Treasurer has been instrumental in establishing the FLRLHF as the "place to go" for hearing assistance in the 4 Western New York Lions Districts. Credit goes to Foundation Audiologist, Joe Kozelsky, M.S., CCC/A who uses a lot of his spare time away from his business, keeping the hearing aid inventory adequate.
The address of the Finger Lakes Region Lions Hearing Foundation Corporate Headquarters is:
7134 Valentine Road
Victor, NY 14564
We are presently relocating the bookkeeping and application processing operations. This will lighten individual volunteer responsibilities and insure continuity of operations by incorporating back up personnel. The bookkeeping operation will be secured in the Union Springs Lions Club.
The Application Processing Center will be sharing office space with the ESSHC. This will maximize the chance that a dream of a Union Springs Lions, PDG Ray Wociulewicz, creator of the FLRLHF, may be realized. His dream was to have Multiple District 20 under one "hearing umbrella".Click HERE for an Application form or call 607-398-7216
